Caddie of PGA Golfer Denied Entry
Sam Pinfold, the caddie of American golfer Brendan Steele was denied entry to attend this week's Humana Challenge and returned to his native New Zealand. From the Irish Times:
Brendan Steele will have home advantage at this week’s Humana Challenge, but will not have his regular caddie on the bag after he was “treated like a criminal” at US immigration.
Steele’s caddie Sam Pinfold ran into problems with his visa when he returned to the United States and was put straight back on a plane to his native New Zealand.
“He came back on Sunday night to LAX (Los Angeles International airport) and they wouldn’t let him through immigration,” Steele said.
“So they treated him kind of like a criminal and turned him around with two guards that made sure he got on to his plane straight back to New Zealand, and we have got to try to get him sorted out so he can get back here as soon as possible.
Pinfold's main problem is that his employer is American. Had the employer had another nationality, he might have been able to enter on a visa tied to the employer's work visa.

USCIS Holds National Teleconference on O and P Visas
USCIS had a listening session today with several hundred callers from around the country and also informed listeners that they have extended the entrepreneurs in residence to the entertainment and arts visas by bringing on board an artist, a labor union representative and a venue owner to help educate USCIS about the entertainment industry. Interestingly, no one from an actual company that creates entertainment content was included.

Some are saying the misbehaving singer risks losing his residency status, but others don't believe he's really at risk unless the charges leveled are more serious.

Gamer Denied Entry to the US
Another video gamer coming in for a major competition has been denied entry by CBP. Marcel Feldkamp, a German national, was coming to the US to participate in a League of Legends competition. He attempted to enter the US on a visa waiver, something that should be permissible under the Foreign Affairs Manual, but was denied entry and will now be forced to seek a visa. Counter Logic Gaming, the developer of League of Legends, issued a statement indicating they did not know why entry was denied.
